This course provides students with the essential skills for classical, realism-focused drawing. Instruction begins with the fundamentals, including proper pencil handling, sharpening techniques, and principles of measurement, perspective, shading, and value.

Students then progress to observational drawing from life, using lighting setups and studying Bargue Plates, while working with graphite and charcoal to develop technical precision. Each exercise is designed to cultivate control, accuracy, and a disciplined eye, forming a solid foundation for further study in Oil Painting, Portraiture, Figure Drawing, and other advanced techniques, as well as the continuation of the Fundamentals program.
