(Private Atelier Setting)

This summer course introduces teens to the foundations of classical realistic drawing through focused instruction and individualized guidance. Students will develop observational skills and technical confidence while working with graphite and charcoal in a structured atelier-inspired approach.

Classes include studies in measurement, perspective, shading, edges, and value relationships, along with observational drawing from life and selected academic exercises based on the classical realist tradition. Students learn to observe like artists while developing patience, confidence, and a deeper understanding of light, form, and structure.

The small-group format allows students to receive personal attention while making meaningful progress over the summer. Students also benefit from working alongside peers with similar artistic interests in a focused, supportive group setting. This course is designed to strengthen drawing fundamentals, build confidence, and support portfolio development for students interested in advancing their artistic studies.

It is well-suited for motivated beginners and students with prior drawing experience who want to refine their skills and establish a strong foundation for future art training.
